Mixing or formulating these components to produce the best product for a particular application can be a complex task.<\/p><p>It is often necessary to find a compromise between the conflicting requirements of performance, compatibility and cost. It is important that the lubricant shows a balanced performance profile and is not strong in one or two areas at the expense of poor performance in another.<\/p><p>Lubricants are chemical complexes. Various base fluids and additives are used. Lubricant properties depend on the interactions between these component substances.
